Road Trip- Perth, WA
(II) Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

We drove south of Perth.
Past Margaret River and Augusta.

As you can see, the lighthouse is located at the most south westerly tip of Australia.
It is standing at the point where the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean meet.
Since we are the tip, its the end of the unspoilt green fields, immediately meeting the vast blue ocean. At a far distant corner,it's as if the clear blue skies and the fluffy clouds melted into the ocean.
The lighthouse looks so sparkly white amidst that kind of backdrop.
there was nothing to do but to soak in the view, the wind and sound of the breaking waves.

Enjoy.

Cafe behind my mum and me.

I love this pic of the distant figures of my dad and irfan

I've always thought that the way clouds are drawn in kids' drawing are pretty exaggerated. always big and fluffy, everywhere in the skies. But each time I come to australia, I am reminded that it is possible to have clouds like that.
Road Trip- Perth, WA
(I) Pinnacles Desert

I dunno why we decided to go back australia for the 3rd time now. But we did anyway.

Drove north of perth, into the Pinnacles desert.
where the limestone formations stood still, scattered across the vast, yellow sand dunes.
It makes a breathtaking landscape in a spooky kind of way.
the sky was typically australia; gorgeous bluest of blue. it created a nice contrast to the yellow sand dunes and the tall limestone formations that stuck out scattered and silent.
Amazing, the work of mother nature.

will post more pics over time...

i cant sleep and i just found my SD card containing lots of photos...here's one i like of alisha doing her favourite thing- standing.

and since im bored, i meddled with smilebox and created a slideshow of her pics taken last month. i really cnt get to sleep no matter hw hard i tried. hence this lil slideshow.
the thing i like about smilebox is i dont have to wait to upload the photos..i just have to copy and paste from my folder. the long wait time is usually the one thing that deters me from uploading photos.
but i dont like the part when it plays, it opens up to another window and there is an ad which you have to wait through before the slideshow begins.

so click play, wait through the ad and enjoy the slideshow and the music, which i happen to like in the middle of this sleepless nite.

Dear alisha,

my oh my, our lil brown bear has grown. you are SIX months now.
you are rather tiny. weighing only 6.6kg, you have just doubled your birth weight. we really dunno how to fatten you up. u dunt drink much milk, preferring to move about instead.

at 6 months, you are all over, alisha. you are like a lil boy, always so active, alert and moving about. and this month, your favourite thing to do is standing!! we thought we dont have to worry about that until a few more months, but i guess you are a lil impatient to get to places, arent u?

you just love to stand so much and have been teaching yourself this skill since you were born. i remember how u will always lift your head even as young as a month old. and this month, you did it! you are finally able to pull up and stand holding onto something.

you seldom sit. eversince u learnt to crawl last month, you will crawl everywhere. and you crawl especially to get to a destination where u can pull to stand. you will trample over abang when he is lying down. you will hook your tiny fingers onto abang ears when he is sitting and pull yourself up. you dont care if its my T-shirt, abang's head, atok's knees, sofa...as long as you can grab onto it, pull and stand. Im sure you cant wait to walk and get to places. Be patient, lil girl. U will one day. you are only 6 months, and u want to do so many things..

and i guess, because you are so determined to get to places, u sleep so little. Nenek is so frustrated at times and she is not sure what to do with you coz u are always always awake. we have to watch over u all the time. u want to see everything, touch everything, eat everything and stand everywhere!. all the time. pheww..its quite tiring for us.

and u are still apprehensive towards strangers. u will wail when they carry u. the last thing u would do is smile at an unfamiliar face. you will only show your widest grin to us, people closest to u. i wonder why..

and i also wonder why u are so fascinated with laptops. when u see a laptop across the room, u will get so excited and crawl as fast as u could towatds it, bulldoze your way through anything in between. u like pressing the keys and then staring at the screen looking for a reaction and get so fascinated by it.

and now, u just hate being left at home. when u see me heading for the door without u, u will scream, cry and start moving frantically. u dunt like to be left behind, do u?

when i reach home from work, you will always welcome me with your enthusiasm. the moment u see me, you will squeal in excitement and move your arms, legs enthusiastically, asking to be carried. and when i do carry u, u will smile your biggest smile:)

at 6 months, you are learning so much. and u just wont slow down...
we will be here, brown bear, trying our best to save your falls.

so till next month,
love,
ibu

We miss your spunk, boy.

irfan was left at my sis's place the other day while alim and i had to do some errands. when we came home, irfan was pretty quiet.
he called me twice to ask to go home which was rather strange coz he enjoys playing with qistina.
i found out later, all of them watched a horror movie over mio. something called suara dari kubor. i understand from my mum later that there were some scenes of pochong. when we got home, irfan was very quiet and behaving strangely. to put simply, he had lost all his spunk; his loud vocal chords somehow vanished, his hyperactivity stumped and he was just so lethargic and stony. these went on for a few days and i was getting pretty worried coz this boy is always on the go and so the change was very obvious.
i asked him if he was spooked by the scary movie. he said no and refused to talk about it. he did say its only a movie and they were wearing makeup and then kept quiet. but he spoke so little, which again was so unlike him. he prayed maghrib with all of us, and didnt even budge a bit from the prayer mat. no swiinging, no turning and definitely no squirming. so strange.
that night when we got home, he asked alim to pray and get to bed. he wanted all of us to be in bed. he sat on the bed for the longest time blinking and blinking. he closed his eyes a few times but woke up later and looked around. he was the one to wake us up when alisha cried for milk at 5 am. He was obviously affected by something but didnt say what it was. it is rather strange coz i always thought of him as someone who blurts out everything and anything.
for a few days it went on like that. he didnt want to tell us what was wrong. he was so lethargic. he slumps himself on the bed or on the sofa and just kept quiet. some times he watches TV and when it's off he just sits there blinking or fiddles with his toys. when i crack a joke or disturb him, he will still smile but thats all. no disturbing back, no shouting, no lanyak lanyak oso. we couldnt believe that it had been 3 days and we still didnnt have to ask him to be quiet or shut him up.
he had trouble sleeping, that was quite obvious coz he didnt just fall asleep like he used to. even if he falls asleep, he would wake up in the middle of the night, eyes very wide and looked around the room. i wondered if he was spooked or could it be a medical problem. yes i love to worry but the change was so apparent; from one extreme to another so any mum would have been worried too!
so i tried asking him again, had to resort to saying, we'd buy him ice cream if he told us what was wrong. He finally said, in a very soft voice (again, strange) "i am scared. that movie at qistina house. i am scared. But I dont want ice cream. Ice cream is not good for me. Vegetables is better." that was all.
so he was indeed spooked. i think he was sooo spooked that he didnt even want to talk about it. this is the first time ive seen him like this. he had watched horror movies before, and told me right out he is scared but never behaved in this way. quite scary actually to see him like that.
and i must say, i appreciate his spunk much more now! imagine, i actually missed that.
he is slowly getting back but still not the same irfan. we try not to talk about it anymore and keep him occupied with other things. hope he gets back soon:)
yes, sticking to each other is a good idea especially during moments in your life when your parents become your least favourite people.(although I hope that day will never come)
You will need each other, for one reason or another..trust me.

Nobody likes liars but I especially hate them.
I am not sure if the problem lies with me. The fact that i have an issue with trusting people. The way i see it, it is a fine line between trust and being blind to things which are happening beneath the surface. and to be oblivious makes me feel stupid. and i have to admit i hate feeling stupid.

its no surprise that even people closest to you are capable of lying. there are so many cases of husbands cheating on their wives right under their noses and vice versa. i dunno which is worst; the fact that their husbands are interested in other people or the fact that they have been lied to all these time. For me, I think the latter would be more painful.

People lie for a variety of reasons. Basically, they want to hide things which they know at some level are unacceptable. But they cannot help but to do them anyway. A poor decision has been made. It was a lack of better judgement but the deed had been done. They are unable to control how they feel and proceed with the decision to do it. Afterwhich, these things have to be sealed in a form of a lie so that normalcy will prevail.

So i ask myself, what would I do, if im put in that situation. In a situation where despite knowing that it is unacceptable, I cant control my wants and proceed on. What would I do? Stop myself?Or go ahead and do it? After which do I lie about it or admit it and let the truth be out? It is a difficult decision, more difficult than deciding to do the unacceptable and bear the consequences in the first place.

I would probably lie too? But day to day living would be a torture. Having to face someone knowing that you are keeping something from that person is pure torture to me. And if anyone can ever do that; keep a straight face within a very close proximity day in and day out, I really think this person is close to being not human. Someone with no conscience dont deserve to be called human, no?

Thats the responsibility u have to commit to for lying isnt it? You lie and you have to maintain it. You maintain it by distinguishing every single sense of conscience in you. So much so, that you convince yourself that you are not lying, but come up with some justification to make up for your lack of/absence of conscience. Some poeple are capable of it, others choose to lift this heavy burden of their chests and tell the truth. The truth hurts and opening a can of worms is never pleasant. And it takes guts to do it. Not everyone has enough of it.

Good decision making is a lifelong learning experience. Even in primary school, we teach our pupils to make sound decisions in our values inculcation programme. But until adulthood, we are still learning. I am guilty of making bad decisions at times and I am constantly learning.

My approach to people who lie is simple. Ive always told my students, my colleagues, irfan that it is always better to tell me the truth even if it hurts. I will like to think that I am a calm and rational person. A person who always look for the grey in things, a person who would say that its ok that a mistake has been made; that a mistake is usually a result of sum of things; an action usually has a cause and nobody should be seen as a total villain or a saint. BUT i cant say the same if a lie has been told to me. Im afraid I cant.

In case anyone is wondering, this entry is not a result of a personal experience. But more of the happenings ive encountered these past few weeks. Lying, dishonesty seemed to be the theme these few weeks and thus Im propelled to write this entry.

SO in case you dont get the gist of this entry; the message is simple. Tell the truth and there is a chance of everything being forgiven. But lie, and I wont even bother to sit down and psycho-analyse the situation; i wont even consider your perspective or ask why.
I would just reiterate my earlier point that I should not have been lied to.

But that is just me. If someone gives you an innocent front but is actually swallowing a painful truth, what would you do if and when you find out?
What would you do?

finally, a fortnight of misery is over and i feel so relieved!!! can breathe easier now..although i still have plenty to do actually. next week, another event coming up and ive been arrowed to emcee the event. me emcee? they must be nuts but as usual, i would hv no choice but to do it..and no public humiliation is my only target. arrow me last min sumore...tsk tsk ..well..soon it would be over too and the much awaited holidays will arrive!!! hooray.

here' s just some thoughts that came to mind over the last two weeks..

1) its funny how the internet keeps you connected with the outside world but disconnects you from people staying in the same hse as you.

2) you can love your country and hate the government. hating the government should not be an indication of how patriotic u r.

3) 5 important things that should be the basis of my strategy to mould these young minds:- transmit facts, educate them abt these facts, provoke their minds to think critically, inspire them to ask questions and empower them to change things around them. They should question and wonder. All the time. I must remind myself not to stop at point one coz facts can easily be found at any click of the button. and if that is the case then i am totally irrelevant.

4) A little child is always sensitive. No matter how playful they seemed to be.

5)THe more people you deal with in your home, the more likely you will end up in conflict. But there will also be more reasons for you to resolve them quickly.

6) i can die tomorrow so whats the point of prolonging any feelings that tire me out.

Helloooo weeeekkkend!!boy, am i glad u r here.

Ahhh...*stretches arm*..finally back to the quiet of the good old blog. No human traffic...no invites, no requests, no live feeds. Just me and my thoughts.

Really sad that my banner and pics are gone from the blog. I have totally forgotten my photobucket password coz it was almost 5 years ago that i logged into it. I have no idea how to retrieve them so for now I have taken down all of photobuckets' banner except a few below. dunno when i can put up a new banner.

i dunt think i can ever bring myself to delete this blog coz there are just too many of my life greatest moments being journaled in here. while fb is more of keeping in touch with friends, over here I can just rant; my favourite thing when im bored and sleepless like tonight. i have no idea who reads this blog other than people I really care about and i dunt really want to know who else would bother to read about boring details of my life.

so anyway, for some reason, i cant seem to fall asleep tonite. tomorrow will be another long and tiring day, that is for sure. alisha and irfan are fast asleep, both having slight cough and runny nose. Alisha was given her first medication just now, a nose drop into her lil nose. i hope her nose will clear, in time for her jab on sat.

other than that theres nothing much to write actually...just that im so looking forward to the hols. as usual we dunt have any concrete plans to go anywhere. in december, with a 5 mth old baby and a 4yr old...where should we go? cold countries would probably be a bad idea..that would probably leave us with aust again..same as last dec? another part perhaps?

i'll sleep on that thought for now. a long day tomorrow. i hope no one is on mc tomorrow. planning relief just now was bad..so hope tomorrow is going to be better.

Good night.

Alisha at 5 months

Hellooooooooo!!

This month's favourite position.
Irfan and Alisha

From the pic above, can u tell who's the one with an attitude?

She's only 5 months but we can already tell, they are poles apart. If they remain in character till they become teenagers, then i probbaly can guess which one of them will most likely give me a heart attack. heh:)

a conversation with a P2 boy

boy: teacher, I bring my car key everyday.
(holds it up to show me)

me: your car key? u mean your parents'? how are they going to drive today?

boy: its mine.my dad gave it to me. my mum drives a mercedes and my dad drives a honda. this toyota is mine.

me: okay...err...but u cant drive.

boy: yes thats true so I just parked it at home.

an 8 year old with a car? even this king doesnt own one!!

anyway, this one enjoys dressing up. he is still enthusiastic abt such stuff..so as to not kill his enthusiasm, we went to look for something that could fit the fairytale theme the school was having. as usual, we started panicking at 8pm the night before, just as the shops were closing. so thank god for good ol mustafa!

alisha's first raya

its the lil girl first raya and our first time lugging two kids around, from one house to another. thank god irfan is four and runs off with other kids most times. But still, it was extremely tiring.....i was all sticky, rimas and hot. and having to carry alisha around, made me feel so tired. compared to irfan, this girl knows what she likes and doesnt and demands things to be done her way. she likes to be carried only in a certain way, and creates a fuss when she wants to sleep. she needs to be changed, held in the right way, rocked to the right rhythm and the surrounding has to be cool enough for her. now that is definitely not easy to put together when you are at someone's house, sometimes sharing the house with abt 20 other people. the noise, the heat makes alisha squirm to no end, twisting and turning her body in my arms. and im in baju kurung, hot and bothered holding an equally hot and bothered baby. that sounds tiring isnt it. and this girl picks and chooses the people she wants. if she is ok with you, you can carry her and she will be fine, but if for some reason she is scared of you, she will scream on top of her lungs. so its not easy just to pass her around when im near fainting.

For the following pics, dont be fooled by my smile..

An overactive boy and a sticky chewy chocolate baby...i was feeling hot beyond words.

Her favourite position; upright and her feet going thump thump thump on my lap..i hear my bones breaking.

the overactive boy hugging me tight whilst im carryinng the lil one. i felt like a tree right about there. except im not so steady and can be uprooted easily. luckily i was barefoot. boleh balance sikit.

so this year, ive thrown the accessories, the tiny cek-kak bag, the careful makeup and the heels out of the window. im so sure that if im wearing heels, its just a matter of time before i trip and tumble in my kain whilst carrying alisha. accessories will just mean having alisha all over it as she pulls and directs them to her salivating mouth. i can just imagine. makeup is basically more concealor than anything else. no point putting much effort there, coz im sure before i even step into the first house, i would be totally drenched in sweat and my makeup will just dissolve in my berminyak face. so why waste time right?

but one thing i like doing is dressing alisha up....oh that i like! thanks to gifts frm kind friends and relatives, she has so many pretty dresses waiting to be worn. and i just cannot tahan looking at how cute they all are.im wondering if all the dresses and hairband im putting on her are the reasons which make her extra fussy and uncomfortable..but then again, i really cant help myself! sometimes i tengok dia pun i rimas, ngan dress all...but the next time we go visiting, i still dress her up. why ah... why??

well, tomorrow is another round of mass house visiting. another round of lugging her from one house to another. oh..how exciting..im already feeling rimas right about now.

Notice how happy she is when we are heading home! we are with you, girl! Home, home home..we'd be looking forward to that too tomorrow.

ok till later!!

Saturday, September 19, 2009

And so i turned 31 last week.
and someone still bothers to make me feel special dat day, even though birthdays come every year..every year too soon. so thank u, u.
sometimes we run out of ideas as to what to do to celebrate that special day so that the birthday girl/boy's face will light up with excitement. But I say, its the effort that counts and to be surrounded by loved ones is the only thing that matters.

oh but who am i kidding? throw in a coach/ks/gucci bag, and my eyes will light up even morelah of course!! 31 and so materialistic. tsk tsk...but for some unknown reasons, bags make girls happy and as i turned older, strangely, I'sm even more crazy about bags! how weird.

and the other funny thing is, i like to buy them but most times i would use that one very simple bag over and over again. i have to admit im too lazy to keep changing bags and transferring all my rubbish time and time again makes me oh so tired. so the bags I have are mostly kept nicely in their dustbags, and collecting ..err..dust?

anyway, this year, irfan gave me a lil present too, which according to his daddy, irfan carefully picked himself. So what would a lil boy buy for his mommy, u think?
well, not a bag coz i think his 4 year old lil head just cant for the life of him understand how a bag can actually make ppeople happy!!

instead he bought me something from a toy store. of course. (toys make me happy so toys must make my mommy happy too, no?) Its a model Mini, a red one!!!

Why? Coz once, a red mini past us and i told him, "Irfan, look.I like that car..Can u buy for me when u grow up?" And then from then on, everytime we passed a red mini, he would say," Ibu, look... your favourite car!!!Ok, later I buy for u ok?"

I guess everyone has a dream car and mine is a red Mini. Its small, its not practical, expensive.. but i have always been fond of it. and if I could drive, I would probably be crazily itching for one..lucky cant drive...so i just fantasise and tell my son abt it..
Irfan's dream car is a Golf GTI (largely influenced by alim, of coz) which he claims can go faster than mine anytime.

Anyway, when he gave it to me, all wrapped in a preety pink wrapper, he was more excited than i was. Quick, ibu open it! MUka light up habis, kalah lampu lap lep...and when i was too slow, he helped me rip it open.

So...i ended up with a model Mini, remote control no less...well, its no gucci or lv, but I must say it has to be one of the best gift ever!:)

Ok till later, the house is in a mess and i think its time i move my lazy 31 year old butt and do something worthwhile for a change !:)

had a shitty and looong first 3 days.

theres a type of people i dunt like working with.
It is the calculative type.
when i meet them, i just hope they tell me the truth and say they dont want to do the job. i just need them to be honest with me.
i really dont care if they dont want to do the work coz i've always liked doing things myself anyway.

the worst kind is the kind that is calculative and love to complain. and they complain behind your back. dont want to do, just say can? dont keep quiet and then complain and complain to other people. just come to me and say "i dont think I can do it" or if being honest is difficult, just come to me and lie for all I care, for example; "I am dying and in between me busy dying, i really have no time to undertake the tasks." I really dont mind. Just tell me that you dont want to do it. Thats all im asking for. I welcome honesty.

Coz its not fair if you do things half hearted. its not fair if you do the tasks for ME, or coz I ask you to do it. Its not fair to who? Its not fair to the students!
Nothing good can come out of doing something which you dont believe in.

Sometimes I wish I can say exactly what I have written above, to the person concerned. But i am not that sort. Its not my personality. I know of some people sitting up there who can. i cant bring myself. Hence, ranting in the blog instead. and more importantly, i know that right now im emotional and if there is one thing ive learnt in my 31 years of life, it would be that, talking when you are emotional is alwayss, always a bad thing.

most times i let it pass, coz i think its not worth my time and energy. and i avoid these kind of people. i suppose in this profession you meet with a lot of people, of different personalities and work styles. It is chllenging and Ive learnt to handle most kinds. honestly, most times i ignore them. Maybe that is not right but i dont like to be sucked into their mentality. Sometimes I hear A complain about B and B complain about A and I just wish they would stop complaining to me coz i dont take sides and i never will. yes i love to hear gossips once in a while but bitching about your own colleagues just makes me uncomfortable. i mean afterall, the next day u will see them and most times you have to work together so ...i just find it rather uncomfortable.

and besides, there is a greater purpose in working. its not about pleasing your bosses or trying to show people how good you are. Its definitely not about who is right and who is wrong and who deserves this and who deserves that. Its not about doing more, doing less. Its always about using your expertise, talents to improve someone's lives; the kids, their families etc...so i really dunt understand why if you have the expertise and talent, you want to ration it. unless you see wht you are doing as solely work. work which has to be completed. and if there is a reason for rationing it, im always open to listen. maybe i need to see a different perspective. everyone is diff and i respect that.

yes im human too. and there are many people out there whom i dunt agree with or whom I am not comfortable working with. and I do get maaadd with some colleagues sometimes. and I go home and vomit all my anger out to the only person who knows everything- alim. everyone needs an outlet and letting it go with someone who doesnt know the person u r talking about is the best. at least for me. and the best thing about talking to alim is, he will hear me out, say what i needed to hear but he remains civil and nice to the person i complained about. he can listen without getting sucked into all the drama. he is the last person to say, "ok who u bully u? I would go out and kill him now!" He would never say that and the last thing i need is more drama.

coz most times after I get to vomit out all my anger, I would be ok. and i can face the person again.

there..I feel better already. :)

But my best remedy ever, the one that worked allll the time is going back to these two. No matter how shitty work was, how horrible the situation was, looking at them reminds me not to sweat the small stuff. that things can be simple. that we are just merely passing through a bridge. and all anger just simmer. automatically. :)

I suppose God made all little children cute for a reason. (Yes, even the bald ones;) They are really not easy to look after and can be irritating to bits. But they are such joy. Well...most times. :)

Alisha Zahra at 3 months

I tend to forget things easily these days so i thought id write about what alisha is doing at 3 months. if we are talking about significant milestone, then she is able to turn over now. but she doesnt know how to turn back. she is beginning to reach for things.
alisha is showing more of her characteristics now. she lovees to laugh and smile and does it all the time. rhe first thing she does when she wakes up is smile. she especially loves it when someone talks to her and loves to be carried. When you talk to her, she will coo back in response.
As much as she loves to smile, she loves to cry too. The moment you are not within her sight, she will start crying. She will start with littles cries and if she is still ignored, she will break into loud piercing screams. Im not kidding. She is very loud in a shrieking kind of way. She likes to be carried upright and sit although her head is still wobbly. her head is always tilted more to the right. i hope that is not a permanent thing.
she cannot be alone for long and crave for attention all the time. she gets bored easily and fusses when she wants to sleep.
in the day she takes very short 30 minute naps. in her waking hours, she doesnt play on her own for long.
she is very attentive and keeps quiet when shown a book, magazine or any other reading material.
She smiles at her brother a lot but she does get angry at him when he irritates her. How do i noe she is angry? When she is irritated and he comes near with his loud mouth and kecoh mannerism, she will open her mouth real big as if she is going to bite him, and then snarl at him. she has done that a couple of times and its only to irfan. Think she has learnt how to fend for herself and she looks like she would grow up to be one no nonsense lady. but maybe not. at 3 months impossible to tell.
At night, she sleeps soundly and only wakes up once. thank god. What else..hmm she enjoys twinkle twinkle little star and will coo to the song every time. she's always mistaken for a boy coz she's bald. even when she is wearing pink from head to toe. doesnt matter if she is wearing a hairband or a dress. even if the dress is pink with flowers.
she loves to be changed and enjoys baths. Basically anything that involve holding and touching her, she will be happy.
Her recent favourite thing is playing with her saliva and making bubbles.

That's all for now. I think i will smuggle her in my bag when i go to school. yes thats the plan.

Keane

the songs at Keane reminded me of a certain someone and the things we've done together. So the best part about the concert is having that certain someone stand close to me and sharing a piece of memory that no one else would know.

depressed mode on. last week. from 4 months down to my last week. i cant believe it. the hardest part about going to work is leaving my routine which i have been comfortable with for the past 4 months. the routine which centers around the baby and irfan is just perfect for me. i sleep while she sleeps, and i even manage to squeeze in dvds and online free video streaming at night coz she sleeps soundly through the night.

i will miss sending irfan downstairs in the morning, i will miss getting a kiss from him in the midst of my stupor before he goes to school and the moment he comes back. and i will miss waking up late and not bathing for a whole day. i miss not having to be anywhere.

and what i will miss most of all is, getting paid for NOT being at work. dream come true.

but all that will change. my wacky sleep pattern will definitely have to be corrected though i am clueless as to how. so i forsee my first day will be about me yanking myself out of bed and then probably tired at school. not only cant my body catch up, i have a strong feeling my mind is going to be running at a much lower RAM than usual. but oh well, i dunt expect to be that way for long, coz school always has a way of giving me a rude shock which forces every single cell in me to pay attention. once you r in school, u have no choice but to work, in full force, no less.

so my crazy frens said we should celebrate my going back to school. i have no idea why we are celebrating such a depressing day but its always good to have great company.

expect more depressing entries till next week. bah!

the much awaited party is over now and the next awaited thing would be Keane concert tomorrow. after that, i forsee things would probably go downhill from there. especially come the 24th, when i step back into reality. haiz..

i must say, i have only one person to thank for the great party- the party planner of coz! when i first engaged her services, i didnt know what to expect. considering her many misadventures; like the creative diaper cake, ambushing people in their homes on their birthdays and many other crazy things..i forsee the party would be colourful. Actually it was her enthusiasm which tells me that the party would be a great one coz she has this 'just do it' manner about her no matter how crazy the idea is. and if things go wrong, she always gets away with it with style...in other words, a total opposite of me, who thinks and worries too much and then does nothing.

so before i know it calls were made to vendors, quotes were given, spreadsheet drawn up and budget done. all waiting for my go. prompt reminders were even given to me, considering she knows me well and how much I love to procrastinate. so in other words i dunt even have to lift my finger, well, except to withdraw cash from the atm and transfer money to vendors:)

the next thing i noe, she had everything ready; the bouncy castle, popcorn, candy floss, ballons, the pretty cake etc etc. i know i will enjoy the party but what surprised me most is that i enjoyed the planning process just as much. yes of course we could have gotten a birthday package where everything is planned for, but where's the fun in that?

discussing the crazy ideas i had, plus the crazy ideas the party planner has and irfan's incoherent ideas- the cheer, the chicken dance- it was just hilarious. getting the last minute stuff, preparing the goody bags, decorating the place; it was an unforgetabble experience indeed. the anticipation and excitement of waiting for the party to happen was fun too. irfan was so excited that he couldnt sleep the night before and he kept talking about the party. and so did the party planner! :)
who knew all that could be pretty exciting.

as for the party itself...sure, there were things which could have gone better. but as far as kids party go, i wouldnt sweat the small stuff. kids parties are how kids parties should be; messy, rowdy, noisy, free play and things not going as planned. and i must say the party planner was pretty daring to go up there n be the mc even if she has never done it before. not everyone is brave enough to do that coz we all know, its always easier to sit back and just give comments.
but of course as the party planner said herself; she sucked! hahahaha.

so our dear rosniaty abu bakar, i just want you to know that you have given one little boy the most memorable 4th birthday party ever! im sure he would remember this for a long long time to come. and he would fondly remember his auntie who was behind everything.
and as a mother, I really cant thank u enough:)

so till the next crazy idea....meanwhile go and practice to be a better mc, will ya!! alisha turns 4 in a few more years, u noe:)
